FAQ Edygraph

The programme didn’t detect any grammatical errors, yet it still isn’t creating the required files – SVG, PNG or PDF?
It is possible that an error in the nodes file has slipped through the net. The programme always creates a Graphiz .gv file, even if it contains an error, but as there is an error somewhere in it, Graphiz cannot convert it to SVG, PNG or PDF.

Check the nodes file and if you can’t find the error kan je aan de prompt een Graphiz commando uitvoeren in de folder waar het .gv bestand staat in de vorm van:
dot -Tsvg klimaat_feedback.gv -o klimaat_feedback.svg
dot -Tpng klimaat_feedback.gv -o klimaat_feedback.png
dot -Tpdf klimaat_feedback.gv -o klimaat_feedback.pdf
dot -Tjpg klimaat_feedback.gv -o klimaat_feedback.jpg of
dot -Ttif klimaat_feedback.gv -o klimaat_feedback.tif
Graphiz will then indicate where the error lies.

Does the conversion crash on empty lines?
There must be no empty lines after the end of the process notation. The last line containing “label:…” is used to detect the end of the process notation. If there are empty lines, the converter cannot detect the end.

What happens if the conversion process crashes and you don’t receive a report?

The programme may be interrupted by a serious error in the process notation. For example, the absence of a closing line or an empty line after the closing line. If you then check the .log file, you will find a record of this.
